Units We Support

Coast Guard Station Brunswick

One of our adopted units, Coast Guard Station Brunswick keeps the waters of the Golden Isles safe around the clock. Its crews handle search and rescue, port security for one of Georgia's two deep-water ports, and law enforcement from St. Simons Sound to the Intracoastal Waterway. The Golden Isles Council is proud to support these Coast Guardsmen and their families.

    USS West Virginia (SSBN 736)

The USS West Virginia is an Ohio-class ballistic missile submarine homeported at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, just down the coast. Commissioned at Kings Bay in 1990, she is the first submarine and third Navy ship to bear the Mountain State’s name. Her two crews, Blue and Gold, alternate patrols to provide the nation’s most survivable strategic deterrent. The Golden Isles Council is proud to support these submariners and their families.

    Glynn Academy
    Marine JROTC

Glynn Academy's Marine Corps JROTC program develops leadership, citizenship, and personal responsibility in the young men and women of Glynn County. Guided by retired Marine instructors, cadets learn discipline, teamwork, and service through drill, physical fitness, community projects, and leadership training. The program builds character and confidence that serve its cadets well, whatever path they choose after graduation. The Golden Isles Council is proud to support these cadets and the instructors who mentor them.

    Brunswick High School
    Navy JROTC

Brunswick High School's Navy JROTC instills the values of honor, courage, and commitment in the next generation of leaders. Under the guidance of retired Navy instructors, cadets study naval science and maritime heritage while building leadership skills through drill, community service, and teamwork. The program prepares students to become responsible citizens and leaders in their communities, whether or not they go on to serve. The Golden Isles Council is proud to support these cadets and the instructors who mentor them.
